Noisli is a background-noise mixer: blend rain, wind, a coffee shop, a train, or white, pink and brown noise into your own soundscape. Flight is a focus timer you fly, with real ambient recordings built in, and our site has free white, pink and brown noise and rain generators too. If mixing your own sound is the point, Noisli is the specialist. If you want sound and a session in one, free, Flight gives you both.

Disclosure: Flight is our product, and this blog belongs to it. We've tried to be fair: what we say about Noisli comes from its own site and app listings, checked in October 2026. Apps change, so check prices there before you decide.

Where Noisli is stronger

Mixing. Layering rain under a distant café, with a little wind, and saving it as your own mix is something Noisli does well, and some people find their perfect focus sound only that way. It also works on phones, and its paid plans add features such as unlimited listening.

Where Flight is stronger

  • Free, without limits. Our white, pink and brown noise, rain sounds and airplane cabin noise play for as long as you like, with a sleep timer, and no account.
  • The airliner cabin. A real in-flight recording, played as an endless bed with no loop point, with the occasional seat-belt chime. It's a sound you won't find in most mixers.
  • Sound with a purpose. In Flight, the sound comes with the session: pick a destination, and the cabin hum plays until you land. One tab, one decision.

A day with each

With Noisli, you'd open your saved mix, perhaps rain with a little café, set a timer and work. Different tasks might get different mixes. It's a flexible sound studio for focus.

With Flight, you'd pick a destination and the cabin hum, the steady roar of an airliner at cruise, plays until you land. For other times, the free noise, rain and cabin tools on this site play on their own, with a sleep timer, without limits or an account.

Switching from Noisli to Flight

  1. Find your closest match: brown noise or heavy rain for a deep mix, white or pink noise for speech-masking.
  2. Try the airliner cabin for a week: many people find it the most focusing sound of all.
  3. Use Flight for timed sessions and the standalone tools for background sound at other times.

Who should choose which

  • Noisli if you want to build and save your own mix of sounds.
  • Flight if you want great focus sounds for free, and a session that ends when the work does.

Questions

Is there a free Noisli alternative?

Our white noise generator (white, pink and brown), rain sounds and airplane cabin noise are free with no time limit or account. They play one sound at a time rather than a mix.

Can Flight mix sounds?

No. Flight and our sound tools play one sound at a time. If you want layered mixes, Noisli is built for that.

Which sound is best for focus?

It's personal. Many people prefer brown noise or steady rain for long sessions, and white or pink noise for covering speech in an open office. An airliner cabin is a lot like brown noise with character.

Does Noisli have a free plan?

Yes, with limits on sounds and listening time, and paid plans for more, as of October 2026. Check Noisli's site for the current details.
