Choosing between nearby airports
- Count the whole journey, not just the flight: an hour's drive to a cheaper airport can wipe out the saving.
- Check direct flights. A hub further away may fly direct where the nearest airport needs a connection; the layover calculator shows whether a connection is tight.
- Look at where you can go. Where can I fly? lists every destination within a flight time of any airport.
Questions
How do I find the airport nearest to me?
Press 'Use my location' and allow the browser to share it, or type your city. You get the closest airports with straight-line distances and a rough driving time, plus the bigger airports within 300 km, which often have more flights.
Is my location sent anywhere?
No. Your browser gives the coordinates to the page, the page sorts the airport list on your device, and nothing is stored or sent to us.
Which airports are included?
Over 3,200 airports with scheduled passenger flights and an IATA code, from OurAirports' public-domain data: the large and medium airports, not private airstrips or heliports.
Is the nearest airport the best one to fly from?
Not always. A bigger airport a little further away may have more routes, direct flights and lower fares. Compare the nearest with the hubs in the second list.
